FAQ

What is “4 days turnaround, 6 days price”?

To show our appreciation, we are giving you a special price-off offer on bare PCB orders. From now on, a 4-day-turnaround PCB order (with 1 or 2 layers) will only cost the price of 6 days turnaround time, and that’s approximately 20% off ! This will give you a lot of savings! If you have any further questions, please contact us by phone/email/online chat!

What does “MyRO” stand for?

MyRO stands for “My Reliable Outsourcing” which embodies our mission to become your reliable outsourcing partner. The founders of MyRO worked at the Telecom industry for years. We understand that being reliable is vital. This is why we strive to bring dependability to the world of outsourcing.

How do you keep your price competitive?

Over the last decade, prices of many raw materials (e.g. copper, chemicals) had doubled, tripled or quadrupled; Chinese currency RMB had appreciated 31% over US dollar; And our labor cost also increased significantly.  However, we have kept our pricing steady. This owns entirely to our innovations in reducing cost, avoiding wastes and improving efficiency. Our prices are very competitive in the industry at the same quality level.

We have been following a Continuous Improvement philosophy since the beginning. We have innovated in the following areas to keep our production cost low without compromising on quality.

  • Automation with digital management. Most of our routine work-flows (e.g. order processing, parts tracking, labeling, shipping, etc.) are now fully automated
  • Innovative manufacturing techniques
  • Improved production process
  • More efficient and higher quality machinery

We believe in a win-win partnership with our customers.  Our partnership will be mutually beneficial if we can provide you an edge on cost and quality.

How do you ensure quality?

Our high quality standard is achieved with the following.

  • The process is strictly controlled under  ISO 9001:2008 and IPC-A600/IPC-A610 standards.
  • Extensive use of software in managing the production process
  • State-of-art testing equipments and tools. E.g. Flying Probe, X-ray Inspection, AOI (Automated Optical Inspector) and ICT (in-circuit testing).
  • Dedicated quality assurance team with failure case analysis process
  • Continuous staff training and education

How long have your factories been in operation?

Our PCB factory has been in operation since 1994 and our PCB assembly factory has been in operation since 1996 in ShenZhen China. Our on-line ordering and production management system have been in operation since 2002.

How is lead-time calculated?

The lead-time is counted by working days . We have 6 working days in a week. Sunday is not a working day.  Shipping takes additional 2 or 3 days.

The orders placed before 6 pm EST will start at 9pm EST if the next day is not a Sunday in China. For example, a 3-day order placed on Thursday will start on Friday and will be shipped next Monday. Depending on location,  you may receive the order on Wednesday or Thursday. Our system will automatically send you the tracking number when the order is shipped.

For assembly orders which include PCB fabrication, components purchasing and assembly, the assembly job starts when the PCB fabrication is finished and all the components are received. That means the total lead-time of the order is the lead-time of PCB or parts whichever is longer, plus the lead-time for assembly.

What type of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard and American Express), Paypal, and money order or wire transfer.  All prices are quoted in US dollars. Payment can be in local currencies. Please contact our sales team for currency conversion.

Do you ship COD?

No. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Are there any custom duty and tax?

It depends on the where you are. In USA and Canada, there is no duty tariff importing PCB from China. There may be duty on some components and PCB Assembly products.

We can handle custom declarations for you in Canada and USA with some extra charges. We can then ship your boards from Canada or USA.

Can you supply prototype sample boards free of charge?

Yes, we can provide prototype sample boards (1-2 PCs) free of charge if you order more than 300 pieces. You only pay for the shipping fee for the sample. We will make production boards after your approval.

If the design is changed after the prototype sample, we will have to charge at the prototype cost.

Do you charge extra for tooling, photo and E-test, etc. ?

We do not charge tooling and photo fee for prototype boards. There is a fee for setting up for production boards. This charge will be credited back to you when the accumulated orders are over a certain amount. We do not charge test fee for production order. We only charge the nails-bed cost. We can also provide electric contact test for prototype boards with Flying Probe system at low cost.

If I order initial small quantity first and order large quantity later on, do I still pay setup fee?

Setup fee and test setup fee are one-time charge. These are only applicable to new orders and will be waived when you repeat the order.

What kinds of file formats do you accept?

We can process Gerber RS-274X, 274D, Eagle and AutoCAD’s DXF, DWG formats.

What type of Bill of Material (BOM) file do you accept?

We prefer MS Excel format, but other formats are also acceptable.  Please see a sample BOM file here: Sample-Bill-of-Materials-BOM.

Can you do routing for me?

We route any quantity of PCB which has more than 2 layers, including double layers.

What is your standard drilling size?

We can drill any of the size for prototype and production boards start from 0.1mm, in steps of 0.05mm, such as 0.3mm, 0.35mm, 0.4mm, 0.45mm. Normal drilling size starts from 0.35mm.

Do you keep solder mask web on all the time?

Solder mask web is the small lines of solder mask placed between surface mount pads to reduce solder bridging during assembly. Solder mask webs have a minimum width that can be reliably exposed and still bond to the board. In our assembly process, this minimum width is 0.2mm. Solder mask web thinner than 0.2mm may be removed during assembly. If you really need to keep the solder mask, please contact us or leave a note in the project.

Our Flexible PCB Service

The standard surface finish is Immersion Gold (ENIG),preferably using laser cutting, or also with mechanical milling.
With no minimum order quantities, you can order your flexible PCB prototypes online and always discuss the selected materials and design for the production and layout with us.
You will only have to pay for setup fee once when your prototypes into production.
